eMentalist, together with Hundt Consult, has been nominated for the eAward 2025 in the category Future Technologies. The joint project, “Rethinking Predictive Maintenance: IoT and AI in Elevator Operations,” demonstrates how artificial intelligence and sensor data are redefining the concept of maintenance.
Elevators are continuously being equipped with manufacturer-independent IoT devices that record detailed motion data on door cycles and rides – currently generating over three million data records per day. These data form the foundation for AI-driven analyses that detect anomalies at an early stage, plan maintenance activities in a targeted way, and prevent potential failures.
In addition, the models enable an objective evaluation of maintenance effectiveness and provide a complete timeline analysis of disruptions – from the first irregularity to system reactivation. The result: Greater transparency, improved efficiency, and maximum operational safety across the entire lift management process.
Behind the project are Navid Dariya, Vladimir Garbuzov, Patrick Kiss, and Dr. Elaheh Momeni from eMentalist, along with Alexander Wüllner and David Schmidt from Hundt Consult. Together, they combine technological innovation with practical relevance – demonstrating how AI creates tangible value in modern building technology.
We’re proud of this nomination and grateful for the recognition of our work combining artificial intelligence and real estate technology.
